How to Disable or Enable USB Storage ports In Windows 7


Step 1: Go to Start Menu, type “Regedit” in the Search box to open Registry Editor or simple press Winows + R and type regedit .


Step 2:  Here we can see the Registry Editor.



Step 3: Expend HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and navigate to SYSTEM


Now expend the SYSTEM and Navigate to CurrentControlSet


Step4: Expend CurrentControlSet and navigate to services



Now expend services and navigate USBSTOR. Here we can see some properties on right side.


Step 5: Navigate to Start property and Modify it.


As we can see the property value is 3, which means USB storage is already enabled.


Step 6: Now Change the value 4 to disable the USB storage and Click OK.


Close the registry editor and restart the computer. Here We are done.


To Enable the USB Storage again, follow the same process and change the Start Value 3.
